Mid/Senior Level Process Engineer

We are looking for a Sr. Process Engineer. This individual will complete process engineering studies and process design activities with minimal supervision. They will assists project managers to maintain control of cost and schedule commitments, routinely monitor quality assurance of the process engineering work product. Individual will monitor technology/industry trends & provide summary synopsis to management, assist with preparation and review of project cost estimates, engineering proposals, and equipment selection. They will maintain client communications, assist with managing client account activity, and perform special assignment services. They will be experienced with industrial plant applications of engineering design. This individual will periodically supervise and coordinate work of junior process engineers. A senior process engineer is responsible for checking work done by others and mentoring less experienced engineers.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, organizes and directs process engineering assignments
Assists with development and training of junior engineers
Maintains and develops calculation tools such as spreadsheets for departmental use
Develops schedules with project managers to coordinate engineering activities
Formulates new methods and techniques for design of complex processes and equipment
Advises and consults with engineering professionals regarding process design problems and proposed modifications or changes in operating procedures.
Represent company in external engineering associations and technical forums
Prepare P&IDs, PFDs, heat and material balances, equipment sizing and specifications, hydraulic calculations, process descriptions, line lists, utility balances.
Evaluates process options and alternatives and reviews upstream / downstream impacts.
Prepare operating guidelines and training materials, when necessary.
Performs advanced engineering calculations and solves complex problems.
Assist with business development activities as needed.



Requirements:

4-year BS degree in Chemical Engineering
Design experience required (refinery a plus)
Experienced with modeling software
Some operations experience a plus.

Minimum 7 years experience.
Experience Credit for an advanced degree.

P.E. a plus.


Passing the FE and PE Exams as well as obtaining Professional Engineer registration is encouraged.
